Forged in the Trenches. Coded for the Win.
Long Story Short
We didn't set out to build software. We set out to find the perfect bidding tool for my own cleaning business. When we realized it didn't exist, we built it ourselves.
CleanlyRun Janitorial Bidware is the result of 37 years of janitorial industry experience and a systematic method that has generated millions in sales.
From a House Cleaning to Multi-Million Dollar Bids
My journey started at age nineteen when I (Drake) began cleaning for my sister, Linda, for $40 a week (and pizza). I recognized the potential for a 'win/win' partnership immediately, a vision that has guided me through nearly four decades of hands-on experience in the trenches:
- Hands-on Growth: I grew a tiny residential and commercial floor-care startup into a full-scale janitorial service by (initially) working 20-hour days and learning every facet of the business.
- Diverse Expertise: I've won hundreds of bids for everything from local dental offices and hair salons to hospitals, car dealerships, and corporate headquarters.
- A Proven System: Over the years, I developed a systematic bidding method through trial and error—eliminating the guesswork and focusing on what actually wins contracts.
The "Grand Master" Partnership
That first house I cleaned for Linda was just the beginning. Decades later, our paths crossed again to create something neither of us could have built alone.
I half-kiddingly tell people that I’m a Grand Master Janitor, but Linda is truly a Grand Master Programmer. After a career consulting on high-stakes Fortune 500 IT projects, she took the lead on our development team to translate my "street-smart" bidding rules into a high-level technology platform.
It's a match made in heaven: my industry know-how combined with her enterprise-level technical expertise.
Core Philosophy
Our janitorial bidding software is built on more than just code; it's built on determination, hard work, and faith. During my career, I've read hundreds of books on business management, motivation, goal setting, systems, sales/marketing techniques, cash flow, customer retention, budgets, planning, cost cutting and the list goes on. But my number one book regarding business has been the Book of Proverbs, from which I've taken these three pillars:
- Take Action: “Mere talk leads to poverty.”
- Stay Diligent: “All hard work returns a profit.”
- Prioritize Knowledge: “Seek wisdom more than choice gold.”
